Lois Jones Hobbs age 75 of Jonesville, VA was born in Lee County, VA on Thursday, August 31, 1939 and passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA.  She had been a resident of Jonesville all of her life. Lois had been a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Mack Jones, second husband Gail Hobbs and her parents Patrick Hagan and Emma Kate Rutherford.Lois is survived by two sons Steve Jones and wife, Debroah of Jonesville, VA and Jack Jones of Morristown, TN, three daughters Margaret Jones of Jonesville, VA, Peggy Harmon of Duffield, VA and Jennifer Jones of Jonesville, VA.  She is also survived by three grandchildren Christopher Jones, Amanda Nelson and Kaitlyn Kinser, five great-grandchildren Hagan Nelson, Kantor Davis, Allie Jones, Emma Kate Jones and Sadie Jones, two sisters Georgia Lawson of Rogersville, TN, Maxie Holland of Morristown, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Forester Wayne Stapleton, age 60, of Blountville, TN and formerly of Pennington Gap, VA was bornTuesday March 30, 1954 in Pennington Gap, VA and passed away Monday November 17, 2014 atHolston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He had been a member of Bethel United MethodistChurch in Blountville, TN. Wayne enjoyed cars and spending time with his Pie Babies.He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Garrett Stapleton, his father, Cam Dexter (Blue) Stapleton,and two brothers. Wayne is survived by his daughters Amy Roberts and husband Jesse of Kingsport,TN and SaraBeth Stapleton-Salyers and husband Josh of Kingsport, TN and his mother Corretta HughesStapleton residing in Lenoir City, TN. He is also survived by four grandchildren Jamie, Lauren, andHannah Roberts and Lawrence Salyers, sisters Linda Garrett and husband Gary, Patricia Rasnick andhusband Gary, brothers David Stapleton and wife Debby, Freddie Stapleton, and Jerry Stapleton, andseveral nieces and nephews.

Patricia Ann Davidson age 61 of Big Stone Gap, VA was born in Lee County, VA on Wednesday, May 27, 1953 and passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She had been a resident of Pennington Gap most of her life and of the Pentecostal Faith.  She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Davidson and her parents William and Mae Pleasant, brother Edward Pleasant and sister Sue Baird. Patricia is survived by one son Kelly Davidson of Pennington Gap, VA, one daughter Kim Edmonds and husband, Ray of Dryden, VA, 3 grandchildren Brian Fultz and wife, Tiffany of Jonesville, VA, Caleb Fultz and wife, Taylor of Pennington Gap, VA and Brooke Fultz of Dryden, VA, two great-grandchildren Cheyenne Fultz and Joshua Fultz.  She is also survived by four sisters Bobbie Mullins, Jean Brooks, Shirley Hopkins and Mary Eldridge, two brothers Junior Pleasant, Clayton Ray Pleasant and several nieces and nephews.

Ina Mae Duff, age 96, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap surrounded by family and friends.She was born on July 10, 1918, in Blackwater, Va., to George and Mattie Roberts, the 10th of 16 children.She married Frank Duff of Stickleyville in 1938. They made their home in Pennington Gap, where they had five children: Mattie Florence, Doris Ann, Betty Lou, Sam Henry, and Mary Elizabeth.Mrs. Duff became a member of First Christian Church of Pennington Gap in 1939. She joined the Powell Valley Rebekah Lodge #50 in 1964, serving as the Noble Grand.For 30 years, she served the youth of Lee County by cooking at Pennington High School. Many of those years she served as head cook before retiring in 1982. She was a part-time caterer and a prolific quilter. In her spare time she was an artist and a crafter. She loved gardening both flowers and vegetables, and she enjoyed birds.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, her daughter Doris Ann Duff, her siblings Charles Roberts, Thurman Roberts, Cora Roberts, George Roberts, Grace Roberts, Calvin Roberts, Edna Johnson, Sarah Horton, Ollie Richardson, LB Roberts, Lillie Peters, Martha Kate Livesay, and Morris Roberts.Ina is survived by daughters Flo Peters of Norfolk, Va., Betty Stewart of Pennington Gap, and Mary Schauer (husband Joe) of Pennington Gap, son Sam Duff (wife Darlene) of Pennington Gap, honorary children Art Van Zee and Sue Ella Kobak of Dryden, Va., and one sister, Evelyn Maples, of Kingsport, Tenn.Her grandchildren are Johnnye Duff of Virginia Beach, Va., Connie Watts of Elkton, Va., Stephen Snodgrass of Kingsport, Tenn., Leah Herring of Pennington Gap, Carla Peters of Severn, Md., Joie Cantrell of Pound, Va., Rae Augenstein of Johnson City, Tenn., Becky Robertson of Lexington, S.C., and Joey Duff of Church Hill, Tenn. In addition she has 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The family would especially like to thank Gina Woodard for her years as Mrs. Duffs caregiver.Visitation will be Wednesday, November 26, from 1:00 p.m. 2:00 pm at Province Funeral Home in Pennington Gap. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Province Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Bob Richards of First Christian Church of Pennington Gap officiating. Ronnie Ray Pete Carroll age 58 of Pennington Gap, VA was born on Friday, July 27, 1956 in Lee County, VA and went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap, VA.  He had worked for Elk Knob, Inc. as a mechanic for many years.He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father Pansy and Everett Ely and his father David DF Carroll.He is survived by his children Ronnie Ron Carroll, Crystal Carroll Combs and husband, Aron and Jesse Carroll, his grandchildren Devon and Madison Napier, Colin Combs and Alyssa Combs.  He is also survived by three brothers Larry Carroll, Charles Dave Carroll, George Joe Carroll and one sister Stella Sis Renfro.

She had lived in St. Charles all of her life. Sonja was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith.She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Collins, one son William Lee John Collins, parents Vance and Clotsie Cottrell, sisters Angeline Poteet, Wanda Greer and Angelous Poteet, brothers Darrell Cottrell and Merle Cottrell.Sonja is survived by one daughter Rhonda Shepherd and husband, Gary of St. Charles, VA, two sons Donald Lynn Collins and Michael Collins both of St. Charles, VA, four grandchildren Shane, Corey and Jordan Shepherd all of St. Charles, VA and Brandy Collins of Pennington Gap, VA and one sister Sharon Cottrell of St. Charles, VA.
