Tex Houston Rivers, age 74, of Pennington Gap, VA was born on  Monday, March 25, 1940 in Lee County, VA and passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He was a member of the Higher Ground Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN and was a retired coal miner. Mr. Rivers is preceded in death by his parents Herman & Fannie Rivers, two sisters, Ofa Parsons and Vicky Floyd, and two brothers, Stoney Rivers and Ronnie Rivers.  He is survived by four sons, Jeff Rivers, Terry Rivers, Paul Rivers and Todd Conyer, all of Lee County, VA, two  daughters, Kristi Manwaring and Latoya Conyer, also of Lee County, VA, seven sisters, Kitty Haddix, Shirley Bush, Verlia Pennington, Eddie Sue Soete, Laura Jo Lawson, Shelia Thompson and Glenda Mohr. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, as well as several family and friends in the community of Lee County.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Pastor Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Province Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Tex Houston Rivers 

John Henry Hensley Jr. , age 46, of Bean Station, TN was born Wednesday, August 21, 1968 Detroit, MI and passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the Faith Baptist Hospital in Corbin, KY. He was a member of the Silver Leaf Baptist Church where he sang in choir and a graduate of Flatwoods High School in Flatwoods, VA. Mr. Hensley is preceded in death by his previous wife Terrie Dalrymple Hensley and father John Henry Hensley Sr., grandparents Levi and Grace Hensley. He is survived by his mother Stella Hensley of Jonesville, VA, one daughter Jolynn Hensley of Lee County, VA. He also leaves behind three sisters Angel Head and husband Arnold of Jonesville, VA, Yolanda Mosher and husband Rick of Thornhill, TN, Crystal Johnson of Kingsport, TN and husband Jeff,  and several nieces and nephews. Johnny was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle and friend. He never met a stranger and was love by everyone who knew him. He will be sadly miss and reamain forever in our hearts.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Jonesville, VA with Rev. Steve Neff officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM Sunday evening until the time of service. Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Fee Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 PM Monday to go to the cemetery.
